Congratulations to Paul and Kelly Lacey– Foster Carers for Hope Fostering Services who have recently won ‘The Foster Carer Award’ with National Children and Young People Awards 2020 (announced in 2021 due to COVID -19).

We would like to thank Paul and Kelly for the commitment and commendable care they provide. They are long term foster carers that have shown sheer determination and commitment to a sibling group of two for 10 years plus and more recently another young child.

They strive to put all three of the children first and are successfully caring for them and meeting each child’s individual needs. Paul and Kelly are big believers that the children should maintain contact with their birth family and promote this as much as possible.

Their commitment to fostering can be seen in the progress of the children they care for due to the positive relationships they build and the dedication they show for each child. They provide a safe and consistent family home; the children are part of their family and view the home as their own.

Despite Paul and Kelly facing many challenges such as challenging physical behaviour, attachment difficulties and verbally abusive language, Paul, and Kelly approach this with a positive attitude and strive to support the children through those difficult times and understand this is due to the trauma they have experienced.

Paul and Kelly are able to build great relationships with the professionals that work with the children and understand the importance of multi-agency working. Paul and Kelly act as positive advocates for the children but always encourage the children to express themselves before speaking for them.

We wish Paul and Kelly many more successful years as Foster Carers and look forward to continuing to with them.

If you feel you too can offer a child a loving, safe and caring home, please feel free to contact us.
